Security Deposit Policy

At King Self Drive, a refundable security deposit is collected before the vehicle is handed over to the customer. The security deposit is intended to protect against eligible charges that may arise during the rental period, including vehicle damage, traffic-related penalties, unpaid tolls, fuel shortages, excess kilometers, or other charges payable under the rental agreement.

The applicable security deposit depends on the category of vehicle selected. The deposit is separate from the rental charges and does not form part of the daily rental price.

1. Security Deposit Amount

The following standard refundable security deposits apply to vehicle categories offered by King Self Drive:

Luxury or premium vehicles may include vehicles such as Mercedes GLA, Range Rover, and other premium vehicles, depending on the vehicle available for the selected booking. The applicable deposit will be confirmed by our team before the booking is finalized.

2. Payment of Security Deposit

The security deposit must be paid before or at the time of vehicle handover, as advised by King Self Drive. The vehicle will be released to the customer only after the required rental payment and security deposit have been successfully received.

The security deposit is separate from the advance booking amount and rental charges. Payment of the deposit does not replace or reduce any applicable rental, fuel, toll, kilometer, penalty, or other charges.

3. Minimum Daily Kilometer Policy

Every rental booking includes a minimum distance allowance of 300 kilometers per day. The included kilometers are calculated according to the total number of rental days specified in the booking.

For example, a three-day rental includes up to 900 kilometers in total under the standard minimum-distance policy.

Any usage beyond the applicable included kilometer allowance will be charged at the extra-kilometer rate applicable to the selected vehicle. The applicable rate will be communicated to the customer at the time of booking or before vehicle handover.

4. Security Deposit Deductions

The security deposit is refundable provided that the vehicle is returned in accordance with the rental terms and there are no outstanding charges attributable to the customer.

Where applicable, King Self Drive may deduct reasonable and documented amounts from the security deposit for charges such as:

• Vehicle damage caused during the rental period.
• Missing vehicle accessories, documents, equipment, or other supplied items.
• Unpaid tolls, parking charges, traffic fines, or other statutory penalties attributable to the rental period.
• Excess kilometers used beyond the applicable included kilometer allowance.
• Fuel shortage or refueling charges where the vehicle is returned with less fuel than the agreed handover level.
• Cleaning charges where the vehicle requires additional cleaning beyond normal usage.
• Any other legitimate outstanding amount arising under the applicable rental agreement.

5. Vehicle Inspection at Return

The vehicle will be inspected when it is returned. Customers are expected to return the vehicle in substantially the same condition in which it was handed over, allowing for normal wear and tear.

Any visible damage, missing item, fuel difference, excess kilometer usage, or other applicable charge identified during the return inspection may be recorded and adjusted against the security deposit.

Customers are encouraged to inspect the vehicle at pickup and report any existing damage or concern to the King Self Drive team before starting their journey.

6. Security Deposit Refund

Once the vehicle has been returned and the applicable inspection and account settlement have been completed, the refundable balance of the security deposit will be processed for return to the customer.

If there are no outstanding charges or deductions, the full security deposit will be refundable. Where deductions are applicable, only the remaining balance will be refunded after adjustment of the relevant charges.

The actual time required for the refund may depend on the payment method, bank, card issuer, or payment service provider used for the transaction.

7. Customer Responsibility

The customer is responsible for the vehicle throughout the rental period and must use it responsibly and in accordance with the rental agreement, applicable traffic laws, and instructions provided by King Self Drive.

Customers must immediately notify King Self Drive in the event of an accident, breakdown, theft, damage, or any other incident involving the rental vehicle. Failure to report an incident promptly may result in additional liability or applicable deductions, subject to the circumstances and rental agreement.

8. Important Information

The security deposit amount and applicable rental conditions may vary for specific vehicles, promotional bookings, long-duration rentals, special events, or other booking circumstances. Customers will be informed of any applicable variation before confirmation of the rental.

The final security deposit requirement communicated by King Self Drive at the time of booking or vehicle handover will apply to the rental.
